Upcoming beta for star control

I'm thinking of pre ordering however Im a bit confused what the beta includes...... is it purely just the ship creater and a playable super melee pvp mode or does it include the single player experience?

The beta for pre-orders will include only Super Melee and the ship creator, at first. Adventure mode will arrive later.

I'm going to pre-order later this week. . .

I am wondering, after the full games is released, will those of who pre-ordered (and those that didn't) be able to create original storylines and adventures?  Will it be as customizable (or close) as those who ordered the Founder's Program?
