Hi there, I wanted to ask if there would be a need for a German Forum that is about Object Desktop and other skinning programs for the purpose of exchanging tips and turorials.

Hallo, ich wollte mal nachfragen ob es Bedarf für ein deutsches Forum gibt, das sich mit Object Desktop und anderen skinbaren Programmen beschäftigt. Nach dem Motto "Usern helfen Usern" stelle ich mir darunter eine Austauschbörse von Tips und Anleitungen vor. Ein Grundgerüst ist bereits vorhanden, aber ich will halt wissen, ob es die Mühe lohnt.

Well there are not so much german skinners, but users nevertheless. The question is if they read the msg-boards or have given up on it.

it would be nice if people could find links to the basic site info, rules, FAQ etc. in other languages. are there not enough germans to warrant the work, or would there be significantly more germans coming around if they could read certain key elements in german?

ob sich die mühe lohnt kann ich Dir nicht sagen ... die meisten von uns haben Englisch ja in der schule gelernt. glaub eher, dass Du Dich dann mit einem haufen newbies rumplagen darfst. hängt davon ab ob Dir das spass macht. persönlich besuch ich das deutschsprachige LiteStep forum aus oben genanntem grund nicht mehr. Englisch ist halt auch präziser wenn die software und dokumentation in Englisch sind.

crae : Hm, maybe that has to do with my busines... I have a lot to do with the management and therefore have to deal with things and write (mostly mails with reports or it-investment requests) in a very formal way.

Although my speech at business compared to home is different I can't get away from the formal writing...

I never will be a great author, maybe besides non fiction-books.
