Start 10 Start button unchangable

I have Windowblinds(10.65)  set to use the Jago theme. I also run Start10 as I hate the default windows 10 start button.

I would like to customize the start button icon. When I open the start 10 settings, I can change most things except under "What should the Start button look like". The pick image button is grayed out and the drop-down button next to it is also grayed out.  I appears the the Windowblinds theme has over-ridden the ability to alter the Start10 button customization.

Is there a way around this?

Hello,

Go to Windowblinds configuration ->setting -> tick "Always use the OS start button rather than the style one". Apply the setting.

Go to Start10 configuration -> style. Pick image should be ungrayed out now. Pick you image.

That should do it.

Just a heads up, the buttons from StartisBack work with Start10 too.

I had the same problem.... Is there an online FAQ or documentation to refer to for OD apps, or the others?

And thanks Basj, for solving 2 issues in two days since I renewed....

For example WindowBlinds FAQ is here -> https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq

Hello,

  1. In Windowblinds disable/un-tick that option (refer to screenshot below)
  2. In Start10 Select Windows 10 Start button.

Don't you have Start10? That was from Start10 Configuration Windows.

But I'm a paid windows blinds customer and the glassy windows button used to work before a recent windows update so you guys should kindly fix your next version to not have windows screw up our taskbar theme or give a free Start 10 if you can't. Thanks.

Which buttons are you referring? BTW, how is that Windows 10 change things and Stardock got to fix it for free?

Stardock should keep up with Windows updates that cause things to stop working.  The windows start button here should have same glassy look as the buttons beside it as it did on a previous Windows 10 build:

Well ever since Windows 8 and Windows 10, Windowblinds can no longer skin Start menus and Start buttons. That is why Stardock introduced Start8 and Start10. To have what you needed you will need Start10 to work properly with Windowblinds.

No it's not true i had a beautiful glassy button in a former win 10 build. But if you can tell me the file name of the button in reply #8 above I can replace it with a glassy windows button.

I already have a super one that matches my theme but I need to know the exact file name to locate and replace it with mine. Thanks.

You'll have to do it in SkinStudio or Start10. That is it. Your only choices.

Can you please tell me how to do it in Skin Studio?
