So, I am nearing the end of the game.

Gal Crusade, NOT intrigue.

Largest map, tech tree done, just mopping up AI powers with ships that they can't even hurt, and when I hit the turn button, everything is fine until...

I click through all the money gathering notices and the slaughtering of a enemy freighter and when a new planet is to be colonized the game just freezes.

If I quick battle the freighter, it freezes there.  If I watch the "battle" it goes a little longer until the new colony name screen comes up.

Under no circumstance can I get past the colony screen option.

I would change my power options for high performance. Freezing is not crashing right. How many civilizations do you use. I use 68. Thats enough to slow it down, but not crash it.

Everything is set to high performance.

I am using the term "locking up" as opposed to "crashing" because the screen just stays there for as long as half an hour before I shut it down through task master.

Currently, there are only 5 powers remaining.

I think there was around 18 to start.

Honestly, I never noticed the option to have 68.  How does anyone get the resources to build anything at all?

Also, all the duplicate flags would get annoying for me.

Have you tried the game I posted the link for?

I set up a drop box account just for this.

If there is a hardware issue, I will look into changing, but I am well over the recommended requirements.

Thanks

Can you try ending your turn without doing anything and seeing if it still locks up?

It is saved at the point where the "Turn" button is shown.  I could do other things if I really wanted too, like ordering ships not to continue along as ordered, but that is all.

ok, so I have read that there is a limit on the number of graphics the game can handle.

Is this true and could this be the issue?

Can someone please try the saved game and tell me they have had the same issue or not.

Unless this gets resolves, I will not buy intrigue and will move on to a different game.

No point in playing if the thing will just lock up before the game is won.

Thanks
