I just did the update of Start 10 on 8th of September.
I did regular updates in the past with no problem. This time, the software asked me if it could do changes on the control panel which I accepted.
I have now lost my usual desktop and have some tiles.
How can I come back to the previous configuration ?

Your issue has not been reported by others and it didn't happen when I update.
Might be another issue your having/
Would you Please try this PURGE: https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling
Reboot and check your desktop , then ReInstall the latest version 1.61

I did the purge and reinstall start 10.
Instead of the usual desktop, I have now three symbols on the top let of the screen:
- Start
Pinned Tiles
All app
I have the usual windows 7 start menu, but all the icons on the desktop are gone.
I found out the problem.
With the update, it went into tablet mode, instead of desktop mode.
