Save & Deploy Settings

Hello guys,

at the moment i try Start10.

I have a user configured, and i want that config an all my computers/users.
I backuped the registry as it´s described at this post: https://forums.stardock.com/483589/page/1/#3681346

Then i change to another fresh and clean userprofile and import the regfile with "regedit /S backup.reg".
All the settings are written to the registy. But after logoff/logon the Startmenu isn´t the same as the configuration before!

So, how can i backup and deploy the settings?

Regards

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

The GPO templates for Start10 would be much more suited to what you are wanting to do:

hi,

i use the gpo templates already.
But with your gpo templates you cannot configure all settings. And a few settings do not even work!

Can you provide an example?

For example:
Fast User Switching
Do not show Modern UI applications in the all programs or search lists

i did a test with classic shell now - works as it should...

I will have to fire up the test domain to be sure (and will) but a common error that people make is that they think that 'disabling' that (any) policy will have the effect they want, when in reality, you need to enable it and set a null / 0 value.  Again, I'll look at what the options are but you may want to check that and then GPUpdate.
