Most programs not found

Most of my programs cannot be found using the Start10 search, therefore i am reliant on expanding start menu folders.

For example, searching for 'paint.net' or 'paint' doesn't work:

and searching 'Word', 'Microsoft', or 'Microsoft Word' also won't work.

If I bypass Start10 and revert to the standard startmenu it finds my programs fine.

Many months ago I set the Windows content locations, and the roaming folder location to my D-Drive, but i'm sure Start10 worked fine for quite a while after I made the changes.

The issue has been happening for quite a while now, despite a Start10 upgrade a few months ago, and today a full uninstall of v1.60, reboot, then install of Start10 v1.61.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro (1803), OS build 17134.471

Any suggestions please?

Hello

Would you Please try this PURGE ( different than a regular uninstall )https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

Reboot and ReInstall the latest version from your account https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

Hello, i have tried your steps, however I still have the issue.

The purge run as administrator had quite a few errors:

I'm not sure why, because my account has administrator rights?

Hello,

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.
For Win7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.
-Type: sfc /scannow
-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

In addition, please also run the following command in the same elevated (Run as Admin) command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for the new reply, however unfortunately the issue isn't yet fixed.

At the time i followed your new steps just now, Start10 was already uninstalled, therefore this is what i did...

- ran sfc /scannow (as admin, which found no errors)

- ran dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (as admin, which found no errors)

- installed latest Start10 from the download you recommended

however I still had the issue, so i ran both commands again whilst Start10 was installed, rebooted, but still no luck.

If you have any more ideas i would be very grateful

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the new link, unfortunately it's still not working after following the steps.

I was hoping ticking this would help, but it didn't:

With the indexing, C and D were un-ticked, so i ticked them both, then did a rebuild:

I also logged in with my secondary Windows account called 'admin', but this also has the same problem searching for most programs, so doesn't seem an issue specifically with my account.

And just to confirm, if i bypass Start10 by clicking ctrl with the start button, it finds programs fine:

Thanks in advance if anyone has more recommendations.
