I have a problem with Java in IE6

When I go to a site that uses Java Applets for games or displays or whatever, the applets are not displayed. Instead they show up as an image placeholder. You know, that box with the little icon(the one with a triangle, square and circle) up in the corner. For exhample, when I go to http://www.rubiks.com/cube_online.html , the entire Rubiks Cube playing area looks like an image placeholder. I dont know what causes this problem. I have Windows ME and Internet Explorer 6.0. In the Advanced tab in Internet Options, I have every box under Java checked. Any help you guys have would be really good. It used to work fine and I dont know what I did to make it behave this way. Thanx again!

Whoops, when I said "every box under Java checked" I meant "every box under Microsoft VM" Those are the only boxes on the list that apply to Java, I think.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/index.html download and install...if you have any problems with Java after that, then disable MS VM

Make sure the following is set in the advanced section of Internet Options: checked-'use java2 (under Sun)...uncheck 'java console' and 'java logging' (under MS VM) and check 'jit compiler'(under MS VM). Might be a problem since you're using 'Me', but there shouldn't be Try http://www.java.com/en/explore/index.jsp and click download and it will tell you if you have software installed properly for your OS...

If yrag's suggestion do not help you reinstall microshafts VM
http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html MS does not support new installs of VM.
thankfully there are plenty of third parties willing too help out in the java arena.
