If you are talking about the white background, unfortunately that is forced by Windows 7 and is not changeable.

I checked to see if the text color can be changed, it cannot be, sorry.

Open skinstudio and load WB. Left side double click "Open skin colors. At the bottom of the window click on "Edit windows 7/8 part colors" ------ A window will open says "Control Panel"  Contact link "Normal" will change one of your colors and  "Everything will change the other color. To see what the rest do for the control mess around and change colors. Don't forget to click Apply each time.

Hmmmm, thanks for that info Dave, I tried that here and it worked, but it also changed a lot of other Control Panel areas in Windows 7.  Maybe it will be what he wants though.

Yes it changes other text in there but I didn't see where changing it to Black hurt anything. In fact it will change the other SS he posted that he wants to change.

As you know Tom there is almost some color from dark to lighter that will work in most places. Lets wait till we find out if this helped him

Look at the image and here are the steps.

1. Open skin in sks (skinstudio)

2. Red arrow. 

3. Blue arrow. Use the drop down arrow and change to "show me the skin defined system colors.

4. Green arrow. Disabled Text.

5. Purple arrow. This is where you can see it change in the preview. It also changes the text color of what you are asking. Note> Be careful as it changes a few places. So making it dead black or whatever may not work. Fine something in the middle that you can read. Basically just mess with the color to where you like it. 

6. Text color change. you can see it's same as #4
