Whitelist, Exclude Taskbar, Alt+Tab and Brightness issues

Hey, I really like the "Dark Mode" theme (by Ved_M) and it really helps a lot but I only want to use it for just a few applications. I'm also encountering some issues (performance, bugs described below) that may be avoidable if the theme would only be applied to a whitelisted set of applications.

Suggestions:

  • Whitelist programs (just like the blacklist - per application)
  • Use the default Win10 taskbar instead of the Win8 Metro etc.

Bugs:

  • On startup my screen is very dark (like a "burn" blend in photoshop). It's back to normal once I launch f.lux but since f.lux wasn't causing any issues before using WindowBlinds I'm not sure what's causing this.
  • When using Alt+Tab I don't get any preview windows which is probably the most annoying issue.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

1) Whitelist program : thanks for the suggestion, I have forwarded your suggestion to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.

2) Not to sure if you are using Start10 with your WB10. If you do, than your taskbar should be "Dark Mode" taskbar.

a) I've installed F.lux on my system but I don't see that "burn" blend you mentioned. Maybe uninstall and reinstall F.lux might do the trick. F.lux need re-calibrate your display setting when you install Windowblinds since it some theme changes your Windows System colors.

b) Alt+tab work just fine in my system. Preview windows still open up and I can choose which app I want to go. Maybe you can try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling.

Make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Install it. Reboot and retest. Report back here.

Thanks.

On my second suggestion I meant to say that I'd like to use the default Windows 10 taskbar and not the "Dark Mode" one or any other one that I can choose from that menu.

I reinstalled WindowBlinds and f.lux which seems to have fixed the issues. Hopefully it stays that way after a reboot. Thanks!

Killing and restarting explorer.exe should fix that. Just open task manager, kill explorer.exe and restart it (file -> run new task -> explorer.exe) tutuapp
