Show of hands...how many of you have changed just one pixel in a graphic?

I knew i had a skinning problem when i caught myself "fixing" a single pixel in a mouseover graphic.

If you're serious about 'getting it right' then pixel-by-pixel is the only way to go...

Me too! Might as well get it right.

I thought everyone did that. *s*

Well considering I've changed a group of 3x3 pixels almost 20 times in the past two days, I'd have to say yes. Sometimes it's quite worrying when you get yourself into a 'loop' where no matter what you do that pixel just looks wrong.

I have a monkey to do that for me.

Who me, never. Everything just turns out perfect the first time around.

Yah right!

, you are not alone, I hate it when I see pixelated edges, like in WMP

Can you imagine how tough it would be if you couldnt zoom in on an image to work on it?

pixel by pixel design? ... routine

Did you ever use undo to unfix that pixel because you didnt like what you had done then left it the way it was?

i try to leave one bad pixel area or code in every skin that i'm fond of. i seem to get bored with them when there's nothing left to fix or complain about. then make a mental note, way, way, way down on the list to "fix it someday".

IRB : I've done that a couple of times!

BKB: Mine always have to be as close to perfect as I can get them.

Erm. I remember that I've redone about 25 bitmaps of MotherOfPlastic because the red value of the greyish blue was 1 off. Does that count?

Erm. Another confession. The production time of MotherOfPlastic was about 6 months. In that time I have changed the colors twice and replaced the symbols of the 40 or so caption buttons 4 times. Now, if anyone tells me that the skin stinks I am allowed to kill them, right?

And while we are at it. I remember writing a multi-page bug report with screen shots about a stretch bug in WindowBlinds. The bug was fixed after the release of the skin, so I had to redo the buttons to hide the bug.

They're coming to take me away, ha ha!
