Having trouble skinning the menu bars & menu bar options

OK, so I'm nearing the end of my free Windowblinds & SkinStudio trials, & I'm almost done customizing my computer to look like Vista! ^_^ The only problem is, I'm having trouble skinning the menu bars & menu bar option glyphs. :-(

Thankfully, these screenshots of my computer will give you a very thorough idea of what I'm trying to do!

First, this is what the menu bar looked like on my old Vista computer:

What the menu bar looked like in Windows Vista

Here's my current skin settings for the menu bars:

And the settings for the menu bar options:

Here's the value currently set for menu bar height in Windows Registry Editor:

Here's the menu bar height chosen in SkinStudio:

And, finally, here's a picture with different sizes of menu bar heights that I've tried experimenting with:

Can anyone please help me out with this problem...preferably before my free SkinStudio & WindowBlinds trials run out on May 30? ^^;;

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I am not quite sure what you wanted to do.

Oh, of course! ^^;;

Well, basically, what I need help with, is getting the menu bar & menu bar options to show up properly in the SkinStudio preview, instead of those gray blocks with no button pictures on them.

Okay, got you. But, that is just how it is. Being using Skinstudio for ages, that preview, is just a basic preview, only thing is when you change something you will need to apply skin. To see the actual change.

But, I also do wish overtime Skinstudio could improve in so many area. Might make more new people to do theme once again.

Thank you,

Well, I tried using several different menu bar height sizes--all ranging from 19 to 26--but all I get is this result in Notepad, & I know it's not supposed to look like that, so I'm quite certain I'm doing something wrong with the skinning &/or the registry editing:

But I have no way of knowing what it is that I'm doing wrong! :-(

When I do my WB I never do any registry editing. Why do you need to do that?

On what you did wrong or not, i could not say. For me when I design a skin. I just go with, if it look good or not. If it works or not. Never need to look into too deeply on how big or small few pixel here and there. It doesn't really matter as long as it look good. It is good. If you need to see that pixel to be perfect but the whole design don't look good for you. It will still be not good. But with extra pixel here and there but the design is good to you. It still good.

Just my 2 cents. |-)

Thank you,
