Updating on expired license

Start 10 has been bugging me to update but I realized recently my Object Desktop license has lapsed. Is it safe to accept the update, or will that deactivate Start 10? Currently it is showing I'm using 1.7 which oddly enough I think was released after my license expired but Start 10 doesn't indicate it's anything other than registered/activated. For now I have turned off the "check for updates" option. Thanks.

The latest version, that I know of, for Start10 is v1.71. I believe this is minor version update and should activate using your current license key. From what I know, major upgrade should be something like v2.x or any number higher than "1".

Thanks. Hopefully these programs will warn me about license issues with major updates before downloading. Eventually I will sign up again- mostly waiting for a good discount.
