Get rid of Universal Applications and restore to previous

I have just wasted 30minutes wondering what has happened to all my prog links. I think about 80% at least have been put into universal applications. This is not helpful. I had everything nicely organised and now I have a massive jumbled list to wade through.

I've tried to find a solution with no luck, does anyone have any ideas?

In configure, universal applications is set to don't show. But it is still in the programs menu after a restart.

I'd like it gone and my programs where they were before.

Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

As you may already know, this is where UWP app visibility is set:

If you are comfortable looking at your registry, this is the location of the setting and what it should be to not show:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Right]
"21"="0"

You can log out / in after setting it are restart Windows Explorer:

If you have it set, but its still showing, perhaps a purge / reinstall is in order:

https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

That said, any app that is indeed a universal one, would show there.  That one is, a UWP app, is not always clear (calc is one for example).

Thanks, I found how to hide the folder on the left side via advanced but in doing so I lost all the links in the folder.

I've tried deleting start10 but now that hasn't undone it.

This program seemed great so I paid for it. But then things moved on my desktop making me wonder if I was losing it, and now I have this epic folder with over 25 links in it that windows won't let me sort out. For example I had an acer folder with all my Acer progs in. That now has 1 prog in it and the other 6 moved to universal applications.

How do I undo this?

Thanks

EDIT  - As a new poster I can't make another post, so I can't reply sorry. The issue isn't getting rid of the folder, it's that all the links disappear if I get rid of it. I've actually installed something else. I'd already spent so much time trying to sort it out I'd reached the limit of my patience.
