Product key invalid

Hi I purchased start10 and downloaded via my email link I used the activation key that was sent in the email but start10 keeps saying key invalid. 
I have registered an account with stardock and tried to use the product key there to active it but it just keeps saying error product key invalid. 
Have logged into my stardock account on my phone in hope it would let me activate it but still no joy just keeps saying key invalid

Because you are using = signs in the key instead of - dashes.  Copy / paste the key as it was written.
