blank screen after start10 update

blank screen with mouse cursor only

Rebooted after start10 update and can only get a blank screen with cursor.  Cannot get into Safe Mode except when using Win 10 install media to get a cmd prompt.  What should have been a safe mode start after doing a BCDEDIT also shows only a blank screen with a larger mouse cursor.

Unfortunately there do not appear to be any system restore points.  Anything i can do under CMD prompt to fix this?

Any advice appreciated.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

We cannot fathom how this would happen with an install of Start10 and believe something else may have been wrong prior to.

If you can get to a command prompt as you say, this would be appropriate to attempt:
