Chrome update 79 produces "aw snap!"

Recent Release of Chrome fails to browse internet on PCs with Start10 installed

We been installing Start10 on Windows 10 client PCs for a few years now.  It eases the transition from Windows 7.  We do not install any other StarDock software on client computers.

I've now received calls from several different clients in different industries that Chrome disappears from the Taskbar (sometimes becomes a generic icon) and when opened displays "aw snap" and can not reach the internet.  Uninstalling Chrome, clearing settings, and installing an older version fixes the problem.  Until the next update back to version 79, then identical fail.  We've been disabling Google update.

Is there a fix for this issue?

Thanks!

Are you sure this is anything to do with Start10?

I quickly checked here and am not experiencing any issues with Start10 installed with Chrome 79.  I have also checked with the canary version of Chrome (v81) and again no issues.  I am actually posting this from Chrome on a machine running Start10 v1.8.

We have also had absolutely no other reports of any incompatibility which I would imagine we would have done by now.

It is worth noting that v78 and v79 of Chrome have apparently had an increase in Oh Snap issues however :

Are your clients perhaps running any of those AV apps?
