Scarabs are OP. Make them weaker somehow. They effectively make all other factory units unnecessary (beyond artillary and anti air)
In my mind substrate was already slightly better than PHC (marginally) prior to the expansion, but since then, giving one side offence and one side defence has increased it a lot more. Defence is useless (unless it can be used for offence). Now PHC is effectively irrelevant. (however its hard to know by how much advantage the other units give, simply because scarab spam early game is just so powerful - and is effectively all you need before an air switch etc. but its surely more than zero, hence its an even larger advantage than before).
My reasoning for PHC being slightly worse than Substrate pre-patch is;
- Air is slightly weaker early game, as the substrate anti air has longer range (hence has first mass attack when in numbers). And the hades bomber isn't an effective econ harasser.
- But also from resource management (choice between quanta loss from increasing storage vs wasted resources for PHC) - vs free unlimited resource storage for substrate. First upgrade should be cheaper for PHC.
I used to enjoy PHC play more than substrate, but after all of the magic/qanta nerf a few patches ago its less fun. Now its more unit timing spam and tech switches in multiplayer games.
Atwater map. Imbalance. Right hand side has access to 3 minerals connected together. Left side has only 2. (the 2x2 mineral nodes are off the gas). Giving right hand side a slight advantage early game. Its a mirror map, so mirror it.
