Accidentally bought it instead of renewing, but I was logged in and now can't download
I'm not the happiest customer right about now. You really need to make it easier to find the correct purchase options for existing customers, and also make it more clear to new customers that the license is annual rather than perpetual.
Right now, all I care about is being able to download my software that I just paid for (and paid $10 more than I should have).
Found downloads, so here's why I'm unhappy overall:
A couple of years ago, when I was getting ready to buy the PC I'm using now, I saw an offer for StarDock Object Desktop at a 50% discount. Nowhere did it mention that the license was annual (I'm not arguing whether or not this is a reasonable price, just that I was expecting the purchase to be permanent). As the PC I was using at the time wasn't up to running Object Desktop, I didn't install it on that one. It ended up lasting longer than I thought, but sadly joined the great bitbucket in the sky this past December (please press F).
So now I was ready to install Object Desktop! Only now, I see that it's expired??? So I didn't bother to renew, as I was miffed about what I thought was a permanent license not being permanent, and I didn't even have a chance to use it (could the license maybe at least not start until one installs the software?).
So today I finally decided to upgrade. I came to StarDock.com, am still logged in, so I go to get StarDock, bla bla bla, but the link to buy is ignorant of my upgrade eligibility status, so I ended up paying 30 instead of 20. All I'm asking is for the 10 back from my renewal purchase, but if you do want to refund the 25 I paid a couple of years ago but never used (since, again, it wasn't made obvious that it was an annual license), I won't complain.
Thanks for attending my Ted Talk hearing my rant.
