Multiplayer game stuck on loading screen

Receiving NAT punchthrough attempt from target failed

Hello,

I see reference to attempting a direct connection when NAT fails in the most recent patch notes, so hopefully that helps with this. But, figured I should post in case anyone has any suggestions, or someone from Stardock wishes to chime in, since this the only way to request support.

My friend and I are trying to set up a multiplayer lobby, but every time we go to launch the game, the host ends up on the screen with themselves indicated as "Mission launched" and the other participant as "Preparing to launch". While on the non-host's screen, you just see the Player and Status headers, with no further details.

We've tried with both parties as host. My router is notorious for having strict NAT, so I'm not terribly surprised it doesn't work from my side, but his pretty much always works, and we have the exact same issue when he hosts.

In the output.txt log, whether hosting or connecting, it shows this error: Receiving NAT punchthrough attempt from target <ID> failed

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Having the same problem as well. Ive tried opening up ports, reinstall and verify of game files, disabling windows firewall, and confirming that my nat type is open yet nothing has helped. In the output.txt its just this same error everytime "Receiving NAT punchthrough attempt from target 576461370574778488 failed"  It fails when either my friend and I host as well... The in game message says cant connnect to host even when im hosting followed by another pop up talking about nat type, firewall, and ports.

Alright I have a fix for eveyone on steam. Go to steam library right click on offworld, click properties, then beta, then select the latest version from 2019 which should be 12/9/19. Its letting my friends join too after they do the same. Props to  Teknical_Mage on the subreddit for finding it
