Cursors look washed out
On win 10 with enabled hdr cursors by CursorFX look washed out, like no tone-compensation is being applied. There was no such issue with old 2.x version.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.
1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
2) Just to make sure, you enabled HDR via Windows Or Graphic Card.
3) Please post screenshots showing us the issue would help.
Thanks

1) Windows version: 1903 - 18362.657
2) Yeah. I'm sure. HDR enabled and everything is working correctly (even old CursorXP) with colors. (Enabled in windows setting - Windows HD Color and options are on and in monitor)
3) Sadly neither screen capture software does capture cursorXP cursors anymore(with 4 version). Like they're not present.
I've made photo with my phone. To the left is actual cursor, to the right are previews, which are fine. Shot taken with default(reset button pressed and applied) Appearance settings.

This is what I get on my HDR monitor with HDR turn on. I don't see what you are seeing. The photo is blurry but the color is as what show up in the preview.

Thank you,

I'm glad that you don't have this problem. Does not solve mine. As I said there is no issue with 2 version, so it is definitely something with version 4.
If it helps: I'm using TUF-GAMING-VG32VQ monitor and RTX 2060S.
Hello,
I am not saying, that the issue is not happening on your side. I am just pointing out, its not happening on mine. Maybe there is settings either in CursorFX's or in your graphics card that doing it. Anyway, I have forwarded your questions/problems to the Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Thank You,

Also, i noticed that when i drag windows via their title-bar cursor looks normal while button is pressed(actually colors become correct the moment i start moving mouse when left mouse button is pressed on window title, just holding LMB is not enough to see correct colors) , once I release button - it's back into washed-out colors.
Same behavior is also present for resizing windows, the moment I press the button - colors become normal(no mouse movement involved)
Any other drag&drop operations does not seem to produce such results.
Hope this helps to identify issue.

Any news on the issue? I've updated Windows to 1909 - 18363.900. Issue is still present, no updates for CursorFX.
No news yet, but, I have forward again your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

As stated prior, we cant reproduce the issue nor have we had any other reports.
Do any of these settings, then 'Applied', effect what you are seeing?

Yes, those setting work as expected. Actually, for cursor to appear more "normal" I have to lower the brightness & increase contrast. But this still leaves the issue of wrong colors when resizing windows.
I've fully (with formatting system drive) reinstalled system - issue is still present.
Nvidia drivers: 452.06
Windows 10 version: 2004. 19041.450
I've tried both with setting color profile for my monitor and not.
Clearly issue is related to CFX and especially 4th version. It seems it is being drawn on another layer where HDR tonemapping of windows is not applied, but when drawing for resizing windows it is being drawn on same layer as window - thus the difference.
Does the problem only show up when you actually click to resize vs when the resize cursor shows when your mouse is on a border?
I ask as there is a flaw in the OS where if you use the OS cursors you will notice the shadow vanishes from the cursor the instant you hold down the mouse button to resize. The same is true when dragging windows.
CursorFX is not my area, but I wouldn't be shocked to discover a coloured cursor set via Windows Cursors properties showed the same HDR issues.
As I've described before problem is that colors of cursor of CFX are washed out. That could be compensated via CFX settings(by tweaking brighness & contrast to emulate different gamma, result is not perfect, but usuable). However when I press mouse down to resize and until I release mouse color shift to normal (if no tweak in CFX settings is applied) or very dark (if I use CFX settings to mitigate original issue). The same is also true when dragging windows via titlebar.
Shadow is in place all the time when using CFX and I have no shadow at all using system cursors.
i think i have a quick fix, for some reason using RGB color settings causes the cursorFx to be washed out, I changed my color options to ycbcr 444 and the cursors are no longer washed out
