CurserFX4 locks up

Cursor used is BioGear FX

CursorFX4 locks up explorer when moving from another account and the cursor being open is a reduced size. The cursor goes to its default size instead. Accessing the icon on the taskbar gets no results. To resolve I run Task Manager and stop the CursorFX4 task and reset explorer. Then run CursorXF4 and reduce the size of the cursor. This does not happen on CursorFX V2.16.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, not really sure on few things, need more information.

1) What do you mean moving from another account? Need more information on it.

2) Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

Thanks

Moving from Administrator to a Limited account or closing an Administrator and opening a limited account causes the problem.

Opening an account where the cursor has been resized. In this instance significantly smaller.

Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.329)

Hello,

Sorry, I can't reproduce the issue on my system. Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485856/cursorfx-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall the latest version of CursorFX, best, do not change the default location. Reboot again and retest.

I notice on my system, the Cursor, for the secondary account, will initially be at the default Windows 10 cursor theme. But, once you set the cursor theme for your secondary account. It should stick with that theme including the size. Just that when changing between account, it will take sometime, few seconds, for CursorFX to load the selected theme and size it.

Try the purge and reinstall steps and report back.

Thank you,

AGAIN, -It is not the specific cursor-skin that causes problems. -If this keeps up People will believe there is something wrong with my Cursors #:(

Hi,

Did the purge and now CursorFX4 is work as expected! Thanks.

I hadn't noted before that V4.03 has a high CPU rate, more than any other process at idle at 5%. (ProcessExplorer) Again no high CPU with V2.16.

Try to disable shadows in setting and see if it helps on cpu loads.

Thanks
