Cursor FX Trails.

The current version of Cursor FX seems very flaky. Sounds and Effects can be set, but then disappear. And Trails are worse. Trail effects can be set, but not the Ghost Trail options, which are completely ignored. Windows Mouse Options seems to take precedence. Is this a known issue?

Hello,

On the sound part, did the sound applied and goes away right after you close CursorFX config Windows or after a reboot?

And on the ghost trail, it is to be known to support and you can refer to it here : https://forums.stardock.com/499587

Thank you,

I'm not sure when the sound disappears, but it certainly isn't directly after I close CursorFX. It might be after a reboot.

I notice the thread you've linked is 2 months old now. Any idea when this will be fixed?

I can't reproduce it.  Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/485856/cursorfx-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Did as you suggested, but to no effect. If anything it's worse.

I ran the purge, rebooted, re-installed CursorFX and ran it, with no improvement. So I re-booted the machine again, re-ran CursorFX, and still no improvement. Now, If I set the sounds, for instance, the sounds disappear as soon as I select another option, like Effects. As before, Trail selections effects work as before, but as before, Ghost, Life, Frequency and Opacity are all completely ignored.

Hello,

I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Since Stardock is on Summer Vacation, respond will be slow. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Note: I am wondering if you have installed in other location than default C:\ drive?

And please try the cleanboot as mentioned here to see if there is a background program running which interfering with CursorFX. : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows#:~:text=1%20Sign%20in%20to%20the%20computer%20as%20an,select%20System%20Configuration%20from%20the%20results.%20See%20More

That sounds like a lot of work, so I won't be doing it anytime soon. Perhaps when I'm feeling unusually confident and at a loose end.

And no, it's installed on C:. If it weren't, would the other functions work?
