Menu cascade to the right

Is there a setting for Start10 so that the sub-menus always fly-out and cascade to the right?

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, Start10 always have menus fly-out to the right. Do you have menus fly-out to the left? Unless, I misunderstood what you meant, a screenshot will help.

Thanks

Hi basj,

Yup, that's exactly what's happening. This install of Start10, part of my Object desktop, is on a clean install of Windows 10 Pro. My previous install was working properly. I had to reinstall Windows and did a full, clean re-install. That's when I noticed the change in Start10's menu flyout.

Here's a screenshot. I selected my favourites Folder-->Software Updates-->links

From the Start10 Favourites, flyout right, Favourites, flyout left, Software Updates, flyout right to the links.

The whole thing should cascade to the right.

Start10 flyout problem

Thanks.

I can't reproduce your issue. Need to know more.

1) Windows version please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

2) Start10 Version.

3) Monitor/s setup, resolutions, scaling applied 100% 125% 150% etc etc.

Thank you,

Hi basj,

Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.388)

Dell U2713H monitor 2560x1440 resolution

Display Scale: 125%

Start10 version 1.94 using the Modern menu style

When selecting the Windows 7 styling the first flyout happens to the right but the second flyout goes to the left.

Prior to the Windows 2004 update Start10 was working as expected.

Thanks

Hello,

Please try the Start10 v1.95 if it available to you.

Hi basj,

I've installed Start10 V1.95 beta but the menus are still behaving in the same manner.

Thanks.

It sounds like a windows setting has been set to make submenus open to the left.  If you right click on the desktop do submenus open to the left or right?

They open to the right. My laptop also has the same problem and it also has Start10 with Object Desktop.

My wife's computer also has Start10, but hers is a stand-alone install. She doesn't use Object Desktop and her Start10 Ver. 1.94 opens correctly to the right.

Her Windows info is the same as mine.

Could the problem be the Object Desktop?

Thanks.

Do you mean Object Dock not Object Desktop ?

No, I have Object Desktop; and one of the applications in the package is Start10. The Object Desktop manager groups all of the various apps together in one spot.

I'm wondering if there is some other app that is somehow acting on Start10 to cause the cascading problem. This only started after the Windows 10 2004 update. It's only a problem with our computers running Object desktop.

I've done this procedure and re-installed V1.95-j97. This did not fix the flyout to the left problem.

Thanks.

Hi basj,

I tried this and it didn't work. I also noticed that, even though Fences had been disabled, Fences was active on my desktop but showed disabled in Task Manager.

I'm going to remove all of the Object Desktop software, then only install Start10 and see what happens.

Is there a 'cleanup program' to scrub my computer of residual Stardock software?

Thanks.

Ok, some more info. I've completely removed all Stardock software using Revo Uninstaller Pro so as to remove any vestiges of the software.

I rebooted the computer and re-installed only Start10 v1.95 beta from a stand-alone download.

I got the fly-out to the left bug happening with only Start10 running with my normal startup load of programs.

I then did a clean boot with nothing other than Microsoft stuff running. Then, using msconfig, I activated only Start10 and rebooted.

With only Microsoft services and Start10 running I got the fly-out to the left again on the second fly-out with default Start10 options only.

I'm at a loss to figure out any program interaction going on here. There has to be something going here with Windows and Start10.

Thanks.

Thanks basj... I appreciate that. It is very puzzling. I've got my apps re-installed and configured once again.

Cheers.

Thank you sdRohan...👍👍👍

That article had the fix. Option One, in the article, was the only way I could get to the "handedness" feature of Tablet PC Settings. None of the other options mentioned in the article were available on either my desktop or my laptop

I had to set the Tablet PC Settings--> Other Tab "Handedness" to 'Left-handed' to get all of the menus/sub-menus to fly-out to the right.

Who'd think of Tablet Mode Settings affecting desktop operations?

Microsoft moves in mysterious ways.

Cheers.
