Compatible software and file types

Howdy, So, i've been animating my own cursors long before i heard of Cursor FX.

But as i'm new to this software,

I was wondering which is the preferred

Cursor Animation Tool

that Cursor FX would recommend using,

so that uploads and file usage across

systems goes smoothly?

And what file type do you guys use? just a

.ani or .cur  ?

Nowadays i personally use IconCool Studio. But i want to know what you all would recommend.

-Thanks

Hello,
I used to make cursors for CursorXP, years ago.. and now it is called CursorFX. I don't think there is any preferred program for it. I use Adobe Fireworks for my graphics, make the cursor side by side like a film strip. Export it in single png. Import it into CursorFX. Set the frame numbers, set the animation rate, set the click point(hot spots). Than move on to the next mouse states. Rinse and repeat until you get all the states you wish your cursor to have. Save, apply and try it out. It should save to XXXX.CursorFX

Try PaintDotNet. It's a free download. Works great!
