Can't install DeskScapes 10

Have a 64-bit Windows 7 OS system. I am trying to upgrade to DeskScapes 10. I get the following error message:

"Please uninstall DeskScapes 8 AND REBOOT before proceeding with the DeskScapes 10 installation. The install will now exit. Note: All existing Dreams and wallpapers will remain."

Here's the problem: I don't have DeskScapes 8 installed. Windows can't find it and I can't find it.

Is there some way to proceed from here?

Thanks.

/Zak

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please do the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling . Make sure to re-boot between purge and reinstall. And reboot again after the installation.

Thank you,

Hello,

Do you have anything here relating to DeskScapes here?

So you do have it installed...

Rename:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes

to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes_OLD

And the try to install.

New problem.

The product key isn't recognized for long.

Used the key provided when I renewed my subscription. Worked perfectly for other Stardock products. For Deskcapes, it works until I bring up the product. Then it again asks for me to enter product key, purchase product key or start 30-day trial.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named DeskScapes. Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate once again and it should succeed without any errors.

If you turn off Windows Rasomware \ Controlled folder access, does it then work?

Paste this into Windows explorer, enter:

%localappdata%\temp\

Locate deskscapes setup log.txt, upload it to a cloud service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, PasteBin, etc) and post a shared link here, please.

This line:

[01/10/2021 15:32:57] Error Create folder: C:\Users\nck_5\OneDrive\????afa\ (1)

Does the path to your local OneDrive folder really have question marks in it?

??? maybe because it's in Greek? but what does that have anything to do with the installation? all the other software that I have on do not have any problems installing. I think that folder is this path C:\Users\nck_5\OneDrive\Αγαπημένα still this shouldn't have any problems due to the language on a folder right?
