How do you stop the various apps ?

Hi,

I just installed Object Desktop for the first time a few days ago, and haven't restarted my PC since then.

I am currently only running Tiles, Fences and Deskscapes, but I have observed some considerable lag in some other applications.  So I wondered which of the apps was having an impact, but that have discovered no obvious or easy way of stopping individual apps just to check which is having an impact.

Looking through processhacker, I can identify Tiles processes, but not fences ...

My questions:

* What is the recommended way to stop each individual application ?

* Is there a reference list of processes run by each app, so one can identify them in task manager or processhacker?

Thanks for any info / suggestions ...

Hello,
You can use taskmanager and disable both of Fences process on startup.

Million thanks, @Basj ...

It's a shame that it's either on or off, and one cannot tune it to reduce it's impact on the system.

Also, I notice considerable lag with anything involving explorer (like save file dialog) ... what could be impacting it the most amongst - Tiles or Fences ?  (I doubt groupy or deskscapes could impact the explorer)

Hello,

It is known that Windows 10 itself delay 3rd party software on Startup. That might be the cause you are seeing the delay. And there is a way around it suggested here : https://www.howtogeek.com/403162/how-to-disable-the-windows-10-startup-delay/ and so sluggish Fences you can refer to this thread, where few suggestion were made by others : https://forums.stardock.com/490929/page/1/#3747145

Thank you,
