Advice on graphic card for my "pooter".......

I made a comment in Jafo's "pooter" thread regarding upgrading my machine and i thought i would ask you guys and gals for your opinions on a new graphics card for my old girl.

I am awaiting delivery of a 2nd hand AMD Athlon 1.4 Chip (one of the older ones running at 200 FSB as my motherboard will not support 266 FSB) which will hopefully "beef" up my little beauty and whilst i am going to be tinkering inside the box i thought i would upgrade the graphics card from the poor little 32mb GeForce 2 that is in there at present.

This will bring my specs up to:-
AMD Athlon 1.4 (200 FSB) CPU
ASUS A7V mobo
20GB Hard Driver - 5400 rpm
512mb of SDRAM (repeat SDRAM not DDR)
Running Windows XP pro

I like to play games occassionally and i have got $70 to spend on the graphics card (it can be new or second hand)

I really have little knowledge on graphics cards and i would value any suggestions from my Wincustomize buddies to help me chose.

Jafo........i bet my new CPU is making you dribble with envy all over your keyboard

ATI Radeon... only way to go. Nvidia always has driver problems.

maybe but you should just upgrade your mobo and get a AMD 2800 CPU... over 2ghz speed.

My next machine will be nothing less than 2 GHZ.

You should be able to pick up a Radeon 7500 for about $60-70 or so. Used one for a LONG time with no probs. Finally sold the computer!
