Why does WC moderate at all?

How about so every piece of junk doesn't get into the libraries and clutter them up. So there isn't a need to go and get tons of storrage devices to hold the flood of crap that would be uploaded. I would also think that by moderating, WC would still be the elite skin site on the internet. How about those answers.

I forgot about the bandwith and storage things. Makes since. Thanks for helping me see the light.

Different answer for you then. Without any moderation this site would go to hell in a handbag and I myself would stop visiting non the less upload anything here. I am one of those who believe there should be even tighter moderation here.

I just should of asked how deviantart gets away with no moderation and why we have moderation....

DeviantART has over 2,000,000 uploads. I'd say 1,500,000 are absolute crap. So you are stuck wading through page after page after page trying to find a semi decent wallpaper. Same goes for any other popular categories there. Here at WC, you can go 5-10 pages and find atleast 1 really good wall. No moderation has its pros and cons, I think more the better. There's no sense of accomplishment uploading work at DA, but here it's different...well...atleast it was different. I go to depthCORE to get my wallpapers anyway...

Kona, you have to remember that this is a *skinning* site.  The wallpapers
are the only thing that is really moderated for quality.  The skinning
sections are moderated for copyright, completeness, etc.  If we didn't
moderate, you would be wading through the junk to find the goodies.  Ever
try to really find something at DA?  You can spend all day looking for what
you want and not find it.  If you don't find it fairly easily on WC, then
it's just not here.  We are also not an all inclusive "art" site like DA,
so you really can't compare the two.  DA also has no control over its
content, which offends a lot of people.  (we don't want that- we're a
family site.)

Ditto KarmaGirl, I looked through the site once pretty well and never went looking through again.
I will admit though that i uploaded one of my cursors a while ago and recently the Glassteel cursors but only because that was part of a plan.

Kona at Devart, it's a different way of doing things. I pity the person that tries to wade through all the stuff looking for a wall, skin, cursor, whatever to find something they like. Most people I know there generally put 'watches' on people whose stuff they like so they can get the cream of the crop. Then from them you find other people whose stuff you like to watch and so on.
There aren't watches here so why clutter up the wall section with tons of stuff just to have to wade through. Try to set up a system to skim the cream and it's more likely you'll find something you like in 2 or 3 or 4 pages instead of 200 or 300.

I agree, I download to deviant art and my gallery is not that impressive...Next to digital blashemy..WC had by far the best walls anywere hands down....One of these days might get a good one off to WC but dont bet on it to soon..
