FYI, "Check out my site" or "Download my new skin" threads are not officially forbidden, but they are generally frowned upon.
Just imagine what a mess the msgboard would be if everybody did that...

Unless there is a point to it, not just promotion. For example, something like "I have this 1 pixel misalignment betwee my menu and the main page, and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it. Anybody has an idea on how I could fix it? Please check out my site at www.whatever.com and save my computer from being trown out the window!"

Now I just want to play devils advocate paxx.
What would happen if everyone who wanted to, put a link to their site on this thread.
Personally I think it might be interesting to check out what other peoples sites are like.
The mess couldn't be nearly as bad as the "site will be shut down!!!!" thread and other drama threads.

Very true Iben, about the "site will be shut down" thing. Yes I also agree seeing other peoples sites can be nice. How about a thread on it then it will all be in one place. I myself do not have a website so I will not start it off. -

Iben, if it's limited to only one thread, then there is no damage.  Therefore, I have resurected an old thread that had that very purpose.
