Windows 10 Webpage Close, Restore Down & Minimize Buttons On Top Of WindowBlinds Buttons (Diamond Style)

Help

When you hover over the buttons you can see the Diamond Style buttons under the Windows 10 (Edge) buttons.

Has anyone encountered this & or know anything about this & is there a fix ?

Please help. Thank you !

I'm uncertain about the buttons, but that skin isn't a Windows 10 skin, so maybe that's an issue?

I dunno. I'm thinking it should work. It's fine for the tools windows (control panel, file explorer, etc.) Hopefully others will chime in.

Thanks though.

Does this happen with all Windowblinds skins, or just Diamond?  If it happens with just Diamond, then it is a Diamond skin issue, if it happens with all skins then there is something wrong with your system because that issue does not occur here on any skin I try.

Thanks, I'll give the other skins a try. I didn't mention I do have the IE 11 browser but it applies fine. I could try turning it off if possible or uninstalling it. My default browser is set to Edge & I can try foolin w/that.

OK, I just updated WB on another PC I have, and applied the Diamond skin. I ran Edge and the titllebar buttons looked fine, until you moused over them. When you do the glow on the Diamond buttons shows up. I checked all the other skins that come with Windowblinds and they are fine, so the issue is with the Diamond skin only.

Thank you for that. I'll drop them a line & hope they'll correct it. Btw, I'm having trouble with the border colors on the tool windows. They just stay transparent grey no matter what I try & I'd like them blue as in Windows 7. Any suggestions ?

Thanks again !

That too would be something Stardock would have to look into WindowsRetro. But as far as I know, Windows 10 does not even use the tool windows.

I just noticed something else too, are you applying the Diamond (Windows 8) (Preset) in the dropdown in Windowblinds? I just did on my main PC and Edge is fine.

No, the other Diamond.

You should apply the Diamond (Windows 8) (Preset) skin then (even if you are using Windows 10) and check if that issue still occurs.

Sadly I did & it still does. I thought I'd mention I'm running Classic Shell Start Menu & maybe that has something to do with it.

How do I go about contacting WindowBlinds for this ?

Thanks.

Windowblinds is a product of Stardock, you would need to contact [email protected] about this issue, but you might want to PM basj or AZDude first and notify them of this forum thread so they can respond first.

Hi Basj, Thanks for chiming in !   I can't help with a video but hopefully LightStar can. I'll explain as best as I can.

I have 2 issues:

1) I'm using the Diamond Style. The Edge webpage(s) Close, Restore Down, & Minimize buttons are on top of the Diamond Style buttons.

When hovering over the MS Edge buttons you can see the Diamond Style buttons glowing behind/under the Edge buttons.

2) This issue isn't present with the system windows (Control Panel, Task Manager, etc.). The problem I have with the system windows is I     can't seem to change change the border color(s). They just stay Aero grey no matter what I try. My goal is to get them blue like it is in     Windows 7.

Hopefully you have an answer or can correct this.

Thanks again Basj !

Regards

Just to make sure, you already set all the special setting required for Edge/Chrome to work with Windowblinds?

  1. The Setting is turned on in Windowblinds config
  2. And the Edge shortcut modification has been done?
  3. And no Edge is running in the background. Need to disable it in Edge settings.

How do I navigate to WindowBlinds config ?

I went to the page on your screenshot & mine doesn't list Edge, just Chrome. I clicked the check-mark anyway & rebooted w/no results.

I also dont have the option to toggle off Edge running in background.

I don't know about the Edge shortcut modification either.

Thank you

The latest version of Windowblinds, v10.87, is what you will need to see those Items.

So it's ok to uninstall & install the new version or just update ?

It should work with just install over your current version. But, sometimes, it is best to uninstall the old version, reboot and than reinstall the new one. Reboot again after that.
