Start10 keeps reverting to Trial version
Hi Support,
I would like to log an urgent ticket with you in regards to the Start10 application
We currently have the Start10 application installed for users in Australia across 3 Citrix servers that are provisioned via a PVS image. The application appears to keep reverting back to an unlicensed version which renders the user session unusable until an Admin activates the trial
During our initial troubleshooting we confirmed that GPO is working as expected and pulling the batch file from the location c:\scripts which then attempts to register with Start10. However the details were incorrect and this was confirmed by manually entering the batch file details directly into Start10 GUI and receiving a “product key has exceeded number of allowed activations” error message. We noticed that the batch file was also looking for version 1.08 but we have 1.06 installed on the servers.
We have since updated the script below to point to version 1.06 instead and applied to the production citrix servers. We also ran the script on the PVS image and received expected results when a license sig file with the latest date and time was created. This appeared to work for about a week.

However the issue appears to have come back and our onsite engineer has had to start the trial again. He was able to do this for two out of the three servers which allowed users to continue working but one of them didn’t present an option to start trial therefore rendering the server useless because clicking ‘Start’ does nothing. He has been able to jump into SOME sessions and use a workaround to bring up explorer & browsers etc for users. If they don’t have outlook pinned to the task bar though they’re unable to open it.
Servers that he could activate trial

Server where no trial was available

In all cases he tried activating start10 using the product key saved under c:\scripts, in all cases he received an error about the number of activations allowed.

If this is related the number of activations on a single serial number how do we bypass it? This has been working for a while now so not sure what has changed
We look forward to hearing from you
Many Thanks in advance
