Start 11 menu height

Menu height

I installed Start 11 hoping to get a taller menu so I don't have to scroll many pages to find the program I want to open. How can I change a setting to have 40 or 50 rows instead of 12. I have a 4k screen so lots of space.

I already tried adding a REG_DWORD in the registry but it didn't make any difference.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Start_JumpListItems   = 30

JumpListItems_Maximum = 30

Hello,
You could adjust Start11 Windows 7 Style panel size vertically if you adjust the "Allocate room for at least" setting. Please refer to below screenshot. (Edited)

Thanks. I couldn't find it earlier.

It seems I hadn't gone through every option.

I cannot find this setting in Start11 Configuration. Currently I get a miximum of ten-and-a-bit entries in the menu, with the eleventh being mostly hidden behind "All Programs". I have just started the 30 day trial if that makes any difference.

Is the setting shown in Reply #1 still available in the config, if so where?

Hello, I believe there are few changes in Start11 since 2021. Currently that option is in the "Left Hand side shortcut". Refer screenshot below. Also, you will need to be in Windows 7 or Modern style.

Thank you, I see it now. Also, I completely uninstalled Open Shell (should have thought of it earlier, and I think that may have been part (or all?) of my problem!

Another question if you don't mind: If I pin folders to the menu I can re-order them, however the contents of these folders appear to fixed in alpha order. Can this be changed? (No biggie).

Not all apps play nicely with each other, unfortunately. Glad your problem isn't there, anymore. :thumbsup:

On your question. I believe, there is no option to manual arrange items in Win 7 / Modern Style.

Sorry about this late reply. When I tried shortly after your posts I'd exceeded the limit for a new member.

Hello.
Regarding the start menu height, I want to have my menu as small as possible, however it doesn't seem to shrink under 8 or 9 icons.
I have it set to 6, but there is still a huge empty space on it.
Any way to make it smaller?

I have the same problem (I want to see all pinned apps on the Start menu) but I don't have the options above, eg "How should my recent and pinned app shortcuts look?" when I go to Configuration.

Can anyone help me? I shouldn't have to go to 'All programs' to find something I use every day!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. And sorry again. I must have missed your first post. Please post a screenshot of what you're looking at? And what you're trying to do. More details please.
