One World

One World

One Ideal

I am a new to this website but what I have noticed of everything that everyone shares is the fact we all have different opinions. On a larger scale all countries have different opinions. There is something that I ponder every once in a while. What if the world was under one government. One global order under which all countries would unite. Could it work? Would it work? Is humankind capable of such a feat? The world is already becoming a global economy. Communication has become completely united. With the advent of the internet we can all communicate to anyone anywhere. The way the world is running right now it doesn't seem possible. Every country sticks to its own ideals and interests. There are still wars going on. Beyond that the world have to conform to one Identity. I don't think humankind could ever reach this enlightened state. There isn't a lack of compasion but identity. Humankind has always needed an identity. Sovereign states have different cultures. There are many different cultures within the same countries. With one government the world would be able to unite and extinguish poverty, hunger, miseducation, and many things that plague the world. With one government the interests of mankind would all be the same, everyone would have the same concerns and problems. What I always consider is would mankind be able to share. What separates us now is society and culture. The differences of opinion due to different ways of being brought up. Cultures differ greatly and its those differences that we all hang on to. People need their separate ideals, ways of thinking, cultures, and beliefs. Psychologically we all need to hang on to these things it is what defines us gives us identity. One government would diminish that. Is it possible?!

What a fascinating thread to read! I saw your link on the lovemongers. Many of my favorite writers are here, though some are gone from joeuser now. I like to think that we can have our different cultures, different nations and be one world, but not under one government.
but I think that we must liberate all people that are under oppression from a gov't that only cares about their own power.

some people feel that this is the USA.

You are a good writer. This is a great, thought-provoking blog.

Thanks Wisefawn, I'm glad you liked the thread.  This is the article that got me hooked on ju when I first came here.  The first person I debated with was Wahkonta which is a bright guy, it's a shame he left.  Most of the writers that commented here are good writers although I haven't seen most of them in a while other than stevendedalus.  It was a good thread I enjoyed reading the replies just as much as writing it.  I also enjoy watching how I have evolved as a blogger by looking at my old articles.  As far as having one government we would all have to be self-efficient as well as have the same access that we have to the government as we do now with local ones here in the U.S..  The trait we all share is having our opinions on what is right and wrong and that can vary greatly, historically this is the root of all disagreements that have led to conflict which presently is what is keeping us apart.  I wrote another article I while back about our sense of morality and the types and differences here is the link if you want to read that one...Link

Try looking at it in the long run. All I was pondering is could humanity pull it off and would it work

One glolbal order and government? Humanity are not yet grown or mature enough. We couldn't possibly do it yet. Maybe in the future, as we have the potential. We're still a bunch of kids. Look at the size of Bush's toys!

Thanks for the link. I'm going there now. I wish that Wakonta, Sherye, Randy Spire and PoetPhilosopher were still here. I adore stevendedalus and the place is full of great writers still. This really is a good topic and I'm looking forward to reading the other link. We've been here about the same length of time, I think.

Yeah Andy Baker it's going to take some time before the world is all at an equal playing field.  Everything has to move forward from technology to our intelligence.

No problem Wisefawn hope you like the other one, that one I think is my crown jewel of articles.  Yeah, what has it been like 7 months now?  Time flies huh?
