How do I set up DX to monitor my hotmail account? Or sysmetrix?

I havent been able to figure this out and I was wondering if there was a way to do this?

If there isnt a way, is is possible to build a docklet for Object Dock that will do this?

I know in Sysmetrix you can specify a mail server to check and I was just wondering if there was some special address that would monitor that. Good luck with your project AV!

SysMetrix and all the DX mail objects I'm aware of only support POP3 mail servers. Hotmail uses a different protocol. I know Outlook Express can check Hotmail accounts, so it is possible to access it without using a web browser. I don't know if the protocol is available to developers outside of Microsoft though.

It is available, there are several programs that will proxy your email, basically you check your email as a pop3, these programs then process these requests and interface with Hotmail.

Remember! Quick! Please...

I want to link my mail checker in Sysmetrix to my Hotmail account.

If it won't work with Hotmail, what does it work with? Other than Outlook?

There are little utilities than will download your Yahoo, Google or Hotmail emails locally, then you cacn use any email program and configure it as a POP server on your own local machine (localhost).  But the downside of many of these utilities is that the way they work is parse the Yahoo Mail, Google and Hotmail web site in order to retrieve the emails. That kinda sucks because it Opens an invisible IE page when it does so, and I've had problems when playing full screen games and it wouold kick me off the game whenever my email was checked.  A little annoying.
