Ridiculous issue registering Fences - someone from Stardock please help

I really need help from someone at Stardock with this. I have the whole Object Desktop but only use Fences because of this problem and now even my fix does not work.

On a daily basis, I get a note saying that Fences is not registered, and I have to re-register it.  Originally I would log in with my account.  That worked, but the next day I would get the message again.  More recently I went through some effort to create a Fences.resp file on my computer. That also worked, but again I get the daily messages and I have to locate the file again, every day.  I'm therefore in the situation of having to help Fences find the license file every day.

To add insult to injury, I just downloaded the Fences 4 alpha hoping that this would fix the problem, but no, Fences 4 will not register itself using the existing Fences.resp file. Do I need a new resp file for Fences 4, so I can continue registering Fences 4 on a daily basis?

I've been through all the nonsense of deleting folders and all registry entries and anything else I can find related to Stardock or Fences. I even went through a complete reinstall of my entire computer.  Still the same problem.

I really request someone from Stardock actually looks at this and does not leave me to seek help from this board.

Aaaaaagh!

Anthony

You need to generate a req file, submit it and then receive a resp file as Fences 4 is a different product.

On a daily basis, I get a note saying that Fences is not registered, and I have to re-register it.

If ever that rare issue happens, this is what you need to do:

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named PRODUCTNAME (whatever app is prompting you). Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate once again and it should succeed without any errors.

Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue.

Yes Sean, I did that. again.  Just now had to enter my Stardock account info to activate Fences, again.

I cannot believe that I am the only person having this issue

And is there a license.sig in (depending on what you have installed) when you are prompted:

C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Fences3

C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Fences4

If not, you may want to see if your AV \ Malware app is removing it.

I have this problem too. I got prompted to install Fences 4 when it was released & now I'm getting prompted every day to activate it. How do I stop this (I have a current OD license)?

The Windows Control Panel uninstaller isn't much use either, as it only shows Fences 4 available for uninstall, and not Fences 3, even though OD shows both as installed. I don't want to lose my Fences config by uninstalling v4, so I'm stuck at the moment.

Please advise...

I now find that I can't add or remove any more shortcuts to/from Fences.

Can you please advise how to sort this out...

Before I run this, what about my existing Fences layout, will I have to recreate everything from scratch? Will the shortcuts all need to be recreated (I can't move anything in or out of Fences at the moment)?

How can I backup my Fences config if I need to restore afterwards?

I've managed to reinstall Fences successfully, without losing my config. And the problem with Fences 4 activation prompt has now gone.

But why, when I've not selected to see any Beta versions do I get the option to install Fences alpha 4 in OD? And why then does it fail to run without activation, causing me all sorts of issues. And why then is it uninstallable without support intervention? This is mess, and needs sorting out...
