Windows 11 Start Menu appears if I click on right side of Start11 icon

Hi,

New Start11 user -- on a new system -- my first Windows 11 laptop. Longtime developer, tech journalist and Stardock user.

Curious behavior on Start11 v. 1.01 on a ASUS F17 Tuf Gaming laptop with Windows 11 Home (OS Build 22000.9) and wanted to know if this an issue or there is a workaround.

With the left-aligned Start11 menu enabled:

If I click on the left side of the start icon (the 4 blue boxes), the Start11 interface appears as expected.

However, if I click on the right two blue boxes (on the right side of the icon), I get the (unwanted) Windows 11 version.

This looks like a hit test issue for the icon (I have the display scale set to 125%, but this happens when it's set to 100% as well). Nothing special on my 1920x1080 monitor. It's hard to click on the left side of the icon every time -- I keep seeing the Windows 11 version expectedly and I'd rather work without seeing that all day!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

When I click on either side the Start11 menu comes up .

Try uninstalling Reboot and reinstalling Reboot and see if that works .

Hi,

Actually it's my fault, but this tip might help others.

I had tweaked the Registry with this tip to move the Windows 11 taskbar to the top with this guide --

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3

Settings value (Byte 13) 03 -> 01

(This tip is all around the Internet -- before you buy Start11.)

So I restored that setting to the default 03 and Start11 now works as expected. (It's weird that the icon could be treated differently by clicking on the left and right halves, but there you go.)
