We have a fix for this issue with the secondary taskbar on Win11 coming in an upcoming build.

If you are happy with editing registry keys we can assist you with resetting things, but if not you will need the 1.11.1 update of Start 11 (or 1.1.1.1 as it may be called) which hopefully will come out this coming week baring any issues encountered when testing some new bits.

Neil can use some karma. No need to risk bad luck keeping him at +666

Thank you for your reply. I will wait for new release.

Hello,

It's nice that it will be fixed in the next version but this bugs me a lot so can you give us the registry change so we can fix it right now ?

I'd rather fix it through the registry than wait.

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, have you tried Start11 V1.1.1.1 Beta yet? You can get it using steps mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/509537/

Thanks

I have the same issue!   If I install the beta version, is this likely to solve the issue?

As mention in the Changelog

Start11 1.11 changelog:

1/31/2022
  • Version change to 1.1.1.1
  • Includes new 64-bit service
  • Tweak which may help incorrect positioning of Win10/11 style menu for some people (unsure as it may hit only one possible cause)
  • Tweak to hopefully help the KM app issue, but this needs some testing for those not using KM to ensure nothing funny is showing up with clicking on centered start button on Win11:
    https://forums.stardock.com/508761/start11---barrier-kvm-screen-switching
  • Tweak for always on top taskbar in Win11 dev
  • Tweak to stop secondary taskbar getting 'stuck' too big and also too big when put into small mode
    • Users may have to change the size to another size and back again for it to take effect
  • Tweak to fix time/date positioning on Win11 secondary taskbar in insider builds when small taskbar mode
  • Tweak so unpinning an item from S11 doesn't trigger it to remove all shortcuts with that target from all S11 menu types
  • Clicking above/below a scrollbar in the menu now scrolls
  • Fix for square image painting on jumplist for Win7/modern style when on Win10 when you could pin / unpin an item instead of the correct icon

OK.   Sadly I can report that this item on the change log is not effective.  I have downloaded beta version.   Here is my main screen.

Any issue should be reported to the 1.1.1.1 beta thread so the Dev can help from there. https://forums.stardock.com/509537

May I ask for the steps how to edit the registry to fix this issue, please?
End of MCurse's quote

I don't think you need to edit registry if you're using the latest beta V1.11 (V1.1.1.1). Link to it is in reply#6. If you still have the same issue after using that link, please report it on that thread so the Dev can know about it and help from there.

Hi Basj,

thank you so much, but I can't get the Beta because I've made a typo in the mail address while registering the software. Now it isn't showing up in My Products and I can't see any other way to get the Beta (I have submitted a support ticket to change the product activation, but it has not been resolved yet). The steps you have provided above do not help in my case and for any 30 day trial user as well, as far as I can see. My failed activation isn't your fault, but I have purchased Start 11 because of this thread and for the sole reason to get the Beta because the 30 day trial has messed up my task bar.

So again, can I have an explanation on how to resolve this exact issue with the registry edit, please?

Thank you very, very much!

I do not know how to do the registry edit to help with your issue. Dev might come along to help you on that. What I can do is to help you push for your support ticket. Please post your ticket number so we can push it to Support to resolve your purchase issue.

It should be effective but as noted you must reset the size in Start11 to something else and then back for it to make the change and also restart explorer.
