I need help with Performance!!! LOL no really

I have a very good computer, AMD Barton 2.8 Gig. 1024Mb Corsair Heat Speaded Memory and 260 Gig Raid Striped SATA Harddrives. But I'm running FX, Blinds, IconP, and Object Dock. Now my graphics are all choppy and if I move my window around the screen is momentarly freezes up. Anyone know waht that is and how to fix it? Please let me know

It would help if we knew what graphics card you have.

FX is usually the culprit but I would think your pc should handle it easily.Turn off the window shadows and see if it dosnt improve.

1. Check for virus
2. Check for spyware
3. Shut down all programs

If all above dasn't work, try to remember when it came for the first, could be that some pieces in you PC are 'dying'

I.R., with that pc and a crappy graphics card, it's not gonna handle it easily, you know. Like you would run into trouble with an MX card. Don't use FX and see what happens. On the other hand it could easily be spyware like SS mentioned.

Need to know the video card and drivers that you are using.  WinFX acts very differently on different cards and is sensitive to the drivers that you run.

You know, I have the same problem. I have an Athlon 2700, 1GB of Corsair DDR400, and a RADEON 9500 Pro. Using latest drivers, Catalyst 3.7. XP Pro. Yes, I have gone into Perf Options in WFX, clicked Enable Support, rebooted, and I saw no change. Any advice?

yeah sorry I forgot to mention a 256 ATI Radion 9700 Pro video card, so thats not the problem.. I'll do some of the stuff you guys mentioned thanks. It's not bad all the time, I also have my CPU pumping out all the time, I have Shareeza going at 1.4Mb/s all the time so that might be it too. thanks though

What options do you have enabled?

Shareeza is like Kazaa right? Since you don't have Sysmetrix, check out your CPU usage with task manager. Also go to 'processes' and click on the 'CPU' tab twice to sort the most used on top. Find out what is hogging everything up.

Like SS said, close everything out and see what happens.

That could definitely affect any process that requires extra proc power.(like moving or resizing a window)Kazaa can run 30% on mine.
