Galactic Challenges

I’m trying to finish up the game and I am not overly enthusiastic about 250 to 350 turns I estimate it will take me to murder the last Ai unless it surrenders. I saw the challenges give prestige so I started against the tide about 25 turns in I say screw it and start the everwar as well might as well get it all out of the way and get some points. I don’t think these events should be able to be activated at the same time also when against the tide finishes it makes peace which messes up the everwar. Also starting the everwar after you start against the tide would make it a lot easier to complete. Maybe One should have to be started before the other or you can do either or but not both at the same time. Also I hope against the tide gives more prestige points later on. Especially if you can’t cheese it by picking both at the same time. I didn’t realized I had cheesed it until I did.

The prestige seems to be a bit hard I’m going to win I just think it’s going to be another 200 turns before I do. This may not matter once tech, ascension, and alliances victories are possible. Damn is killing everyone slow although not being limited by resources to make legions at least doesn’t cause severe bottlenecks like in 3. I never won a military game in 3 never had enough damn legions. this change I enjoy very much I got like 5 invasion fleets and 15 colony flipper fleets.

Until the end-game is more thought-through, I'm not touching it. Get to 75% prestige, declare victory, and restart. It's more fun that way plus I want to get a better feel for more races, different sector layouts, and higher difficulty levels.

Just curious what your game settings are at for game speed, difficulty, etc?

I'm currently at 77% Prestige on turn 270. It sounds like you must be pretty far into your game, so if you think it will take about another 200 turns to win a prestige victory, I want to make sure I never play with the same settings you are using

Happy weekend !

I agree with this.  The game is in beta and it is changing constantly.  Therefore if you can see your way clear to a win, declare yourself the winner and start another game, perhaps making different choices for the setup.  Then you get to check out different ideas and perhaps be able to provide new feedback or bug reports.  It can be fun to just blow up hapless aliens for a while, but then, for the good of the game, it's time to move  on.  The "achievements" don't really matter either, of course.
