Can't resize fences - sometimes

I bought Fences 4.0.0.3 yesterday and installed it on Windows 11. It worked fine. It worked fine today up until a few minutes ago.

Suddenly, one of the fences I had open expanded in size to fill up the whole screen vertically (the width stayed the same as it was). I tried to change the size of it using the mouse and weird things started happening. With one attempt to resize the width - it suddenly jumped to the other side of the screen!

In the end I was not able to resize the width or the height and finally had to close it. The other three fences I made yesterday though are still okay. But I have a feeling that's not going to last long.

Anyone know what the fix is for this? I've seen a few other people mention.

Sorry your having issues.

If you right click on your desktop to View

and scroll down to Lock Fences and put a

check mark there that should lock fences in

place so they cant change.

Now to make changes you will have to un check

again. Then check again to lock again.

Thanks so much for your quick response! I tried what you said, but no good. First, the Lock Fences thing was unchecked already. I played around with it by deleting the faulty fence then locking then unlocking, then re-creating it. I still couldn't resize it. I could move it around, but not resize it.

I was trying to create a folder portal for the main Desktop folder. It worked fine yesterday, but now even when I re-create it it doesn't work. Then I tried creating folder portals using other random folders and it worked fine with those. Just not with the desktop folder.

I also tried the "Creating Fence" option and that gave me the same problem. I could not resize those at all either.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thanks

Thanks so much for your help. I've tried your solution and so far everything is okay. But when I installed it the first time everything was also okay for a couple of days so I'll give it a day or two to see.

Also, when installation is finished it asks you if you want it to automatically create some fences or if you want to do it manually. If I choose automatic, I got the same problem - I couldn't resize any of the automatically created fences. But if I choose manual, it works okay.

Thanks! And I'll let you know what happens in a few days.

It seems that your solution has worked. I haven't had any more trouble since trying it two weeks ago.  Thanks so much for your help.
