I agree with You, Keila. But the best thing is when You can't sue the people who tell that they're sick or too old. That just pisses me off! And one more thing - sometimes in courts as exteniguating circumstances are things like this: Drunk driver kills 2 girls, and in court says that he doesn't deserve many years in prison, because he has children. That's just too lame - ask the two dead girl's parents.

I don't know who Kobe Bryant is, nor do I know anything about this trial, but just reading from your post, I don't think that the fact that she was in his room means that she wanted to sleep with him. It's a shame that a girl isn't allowed to just want to talk or have a drink with a guy in his or her room. Automatically she is labeled a slut.
But even if she first wanted to sleep with him. Maybe she changed her mind? Anybody is allowed to have second thoughts.  I have once.  Many years ago (maybe 12 or 15 years ago or so), I was on the verge on cheating on my girlfriend.  I was with this girl in her room, half our clothes were off, but then I had remorse, I couldn't do it.  I said sorry, got dressed and left.  If I had been a girl and the other person would have raped me then, it would have been my fault, right? No, sorry.  A guy can say no any time, and so can a girl.  Forcing intercourse is unexcusable under any circumstances.

That's what the trail is about paxx. He "Kobe Bryant" is saying the the encounter was consensual. I should have described it a bit better. I was not thinking that some people would not know anything about this case.

That's if he really did Styl. This guy is worth a bunch of money. It could be that she just wanted to get her hands on some. I don't know better then anyone else. Only the 2 of them really know for sure I guess but the point still is she is alive and fighting her case. These 2 children are dead. I just cannot comprehend the jail time involved in these 2 cases.

She had sex with at least one other person before or after having sex with him. Hell she had the panties she had on right after having sex with that other person when she went to report the rape.

She was at a party four days later after reporting rape and was braging about how Big Bryant is as if she was proud of it.

She informaed more than one person at different times that she would be famous one way or the other.

She has a history of issues revolving around her *status* within her peer group and has had them all her life.

She is constantly called the "VICTIM" in the media while Bryant is labeled the "accused". He's already been tried in many peoples minds and is found guilty just because she said it is so, or because he was cheating on his wife he must be a rapist also.

She made calims, and has some boy who is supposed to have met her and been the only one to see her after the so called rape, yet one of the Resort Management saw her right afterwards and said she was not upset at all.

Even if it does not go to trial, or if it does and he is aqquited(jafo, speeling?) she WILL bring a civil suit and try to take millions from him and will probably get away with it.

Her medical records including (yes they are medical records) mental health records should be allowed to be reviewed hands down. If she even uttered only once to her T or P-Doc that she would find doing something of this nature as being acceptable it should be known to the defense AND the jury if it goes to court.

and the list goes on, yeah the list goes on....

OJ was something else, he did it in my opinion and got away with it only because of the legal defense he put together and the threat of public unrest...

as I said, the legal system in this counrty is broken in many respects.

Whether the girl was raped or not ther is always the problem that she can scream rape after the fact, women are finally listened to by the police nowadays, not that it makes the offence less of a bad thing, it's just that men have to be very careful.

I am glad you brought all this stuff up about her IPlural. These are just some of the reasons that I am not buying any of this.

About the children, then person killed them and should be in prision for 20 year on each death at minimum...

Personally, Murder by DUI is no different than shooting a .45cal H&K into the sky and not having a care where the bullet lands and it ending up killing someone. Both of which are not any different than sticking that same gun in either of those childs face and pulling the trigger.

I know for a fact if someone kills my child or wife because they decided their good time was worth more than their life people will read about me in the paper...

Hum, I think that killing while driving drunk is considered as unintentional murder, while a rape is intentional. I think that's where the difference lies.
Also, I doubt anybody ever gor life emprisonment for rape, unless it was a repeated offense. I think it's the possible maximum, but I doubt he would get over 5 or 6 years, even if convincted.

Oh, and there is something I don't get. This is a criminal charge, so why is there question of settlement?  I don't know how justice works in the US, but here, in criminal cases, the prosecuting party is the State. The victim is just a victim, and a witness.  She doesn't have the power to settle anything in exchange of money.
The State can indeed try to come to an off-court settlement with the defense lawyers, but money is not a way out. Often, settlements is an agreement to reduce the charges if the accused pleeds guilty, therefore avoiding a costly trial for the State.

I knew a Plastic Surgeon that Hung himself! I get too depressed if I think about all the bad stuff that's happening. There doesn't seem to be much logic in the system anymore.

If someone is drunk and by that causing an accident killing 2 people he should also be locked away MUCH longer.
Yeah, sure it was an accident, just like getting into the car 'by accident'.

BTW, you think your system is wrong? Come to holland, if you kill someone here you will get away with 3 years if it was 'an accident' and if you kill people on purpose it isn't that much longer.
When you arrive in jail you have your own private room, including roomservice, television, airco and all the extra's. Lately the news told us that a guy was running an 'escort' service from jail.

For those who wonder, NO I havent been in jail

paxx, if she can get a settlement out of him, she will drop the charges and then there won't be a case. So the law will let him go.

Also paxx, a separate civil suit can be filed here. Where he ends up in jail or not she can still go to still court and sue for a ton of money

There was one case in Kazahstan or somewhere there, when a 'just married' couple fired with shotguns in sky (at night) as a salute. They did take down one airplane, one man died. And they are innocent ?
