Beta testers need for a semi-transparant skin

I need some beta testers to test a skin with a semi-transparant startmenu for me.
A fast computer is required, my pentium 3 is having some trouble with it.

The startmenu works with evry wallpaper, so not just an image in the startmenu and it shows 50% the startmenu color and 50% the wallpaper.

I would like not to tell how I did it and also don't want people posting screenshots of it.
Due to this I prefer people who are longer around here, but evryone is welcome.

Post your e-mail addres below if you want to beta-test and I will send you the skin file.

Òk, I only have done the left half of the startmenu and its not perfect yet. In case your pc might crash (mine did after opening the startmenu ) You can change back to other themes by rightmouse cick etc.

is it working correctly, fast enough and the semitransparant thing works?

Did you just use a 50% magic pink dither on the background image? If so, I'm not sure why it would have a performance hit... I'm intrigued.

Cool, can you be more specific? When you open the startmenu, the left side of it, das it show semitransparant and can you continue working or das it crash?

and then there are some idiots that say win XP can't crash

Sure Styl, send it over to me. I'll try and sort out any bugs you've got.

I'm getting a real performance hit here too Styl. I'm on an Athlon 2400 XP with a Radeon 9700 Pro, so I was surprised just how much of a hit I take! It seems that when using magic pink in single pixels the painting engine has a lot of trouble, whereas when it's used in blocks or areas it has less of a problem. Have you tried using a TGA for the background? I haven't tried it here yet, because I'm stuck with Fireworks for the moment, so I'm not sure if you even can use one for that image.

no, SS dasn't support tga files.

Instead of the losepixels I have tried to work with lines however that didn't look like it was 1 color or background.

Don't always accept what SkinStudio allows as the same thing as what WindowBlinds allows. Try going into the code and editing it by hand to use a TGA. It might not work, but using magic pink clearly isn't an option.

GH, I did that, when doing so it shows or the other 50% or it shows black.
