Before purchasing

Steam

Hi i would like to buy your interesting products but they seem be risky (i read steam reviews and they said u only have 5 activations that means u only could install the programm only 5 times) i dont like that because im a noob and very afraid person in the tecnology topic. Also there are problems with windows 11.

To sum up: id like to purchase in steam: Fences, Start11 and groupy. But im already afraid that i would have problems when installing, updating, etc.

1. Is there a problem purchasing from Steam and not from stardock? whats the difference?

2. Groupy will support windows 11 (because fences 3 doesnt do it this is why im waiting the date of Fence 4 comes to steam)?

3. Do i need a official windows 11? if i reinstall 5 time windows 11 do i lose the license and have to buy those programs again?

4. Is there a bug that unable your windows 11 works properly (i read a lot of comments about it on steam)

5. There a lot of reviews which  have installing or updating problems, im afraid getting those problems too.

6. How do i get the key from steam or i just launch the program from there.

What it means is 5 simultaneous activations. Not the number of times a product is activated. For example you can activate the same product 20 times per day on the same machine. As for your others.

1. Can't answer I don't use steam

2. Groupy works the same on W11 as it does on W10

3. If by official you mean GA release then "technically" no most products (that work on 11) will work on Insider releases but "Are NOT officially supported" so it is advised to use the GA release.

4. While there may be some issues with some products that may cause problems with "those" products I have not encountered a single issue that messed up my Windows install.

5. I don't know what those reviews are saying but installing/updating works just like any other W32 executable has for the past few decades.

6. See 1. above since I don't use steam.

It may also be a good idea to simply download and try a few of the products you are interested in as they offer free trials. I think you'll be surprised with how things work thus far. :)

i saw many bad reviews recently on steam, and from them i saw fences 3 dont support W11 (it didnt mention from the storepage) so i trust more consumers than the webpage, i asked a friend and he told that a friend of him also used fences 4 but he got his w11 in a bootloop so he has cleaned his bios and runinstall it. I just dont wanna fuck my computer or OS (as many bad rewiews said). I really want to try your products but dont wanna take that big risk. I would like u give me tips or links how to fix groupy if its has troubleshoot (i plan to buy it in summer sale) thanks

Look again! This is from the product page of Fences 3 on Steam:

Can't be much clearer than that.

Hello,

Fences 4, I believe, has resolve its issue on Explorer.exe crashing with its latest beta version as reported here : https://forums.stardock.com/507474

1. On what the different between purchasing on Steam vs Stardock direct. Purely from my observation, If you want faster updates and betas it is best to buy directly from Stardock. As for functionality, it the same if comparing same version numbers.

6. There is no keys for Steam purchase, just need Steam running when activating.

As for tips on issues with Groupy, you can always come here in the forum and ask for help if you have issue with any of Stardock product.

Thanks.

ACERCA DE ESTE SOFTWARE

Groupy is a killer app that will let you take things like Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Suite apps, File Explorer windows, and much more, and put them into tabbed groups. Just like modern web browsers group their websites together, you can now do that with all of the Windows apps on your desktop, making for a cleaner and more efficient experience.

Creating groups is simple: drag a window to another window and combine them into a single window, with tabs showing in the title bar. For example, open multiple web browsers, all in one set of tabs, or Office applications like Excel and Word, all in a single, easy-to-use window. To ungroup, simply drag the tab off the group. Save existing groups and launch them at a later time, contained and ready to go.

Once a group is created, you can quickly switch between different windows with a simple hot-key or by clicking on the tab. Groupy can also automatically add launched programs into an existing tabbed group.

Groupy works on Windows 10, 8, and 7.

Well goupy doesnt say about W11 but i know that bc in updates topic says support W11 but it the main description it doesnt. So your argument is not valid here.

Well tbh i dont prefer updates bc many customers (review) claim bugs when its updated, i asked my friend and he told that bc of a break code or smth like it. Well as i said before im a noob in tech topic and if it was possible id hire someone to fix bc i dont think id able to do it by myself this is why i buy a legit version not cracked (to avoid problems). If a legit has problems like that it srsly push me away from buying it. I just want a software which works properly and no need external plugins to fix it

I would suggest to use the free 30 days trial and see if the product work for you. Do know if you come to any Support forum, you will read all sort of issues. People come to Support forum to post issues. Ofcoz, once in a while we get some praises.

i heard a lot of bad reviews again but there are 2 important questions

1. If There are only 5 activations, how can i deactivate it? because people say when reinstalling OS it consumes activations and then have to buy again.

2. When an user is run out of activation, do you force his to buy  again or offer more activations bc of (1) ?

3. Why steam doesnt have a key? I think its better to deactivate than uninstall then install

4. If i uninstall my software all my configuration will be deleted

5. Ppl says also that ur uninstaller is junk (from any software that u sell) How can i truly uninstall if it happens to me.

I hope ppl solve my doubts and give a extra explanation becuase id like to buy this software but i have never thought it has a lot of update or install problems that crash your computer. I dont wanna do trial because it could crash my computer.

6. U know ppl crack your softwares right, who doesnt have this kind of key problems

7. i own wallpaper engine and read reviews and never found about a problem instalation. If u can solve that i know ull get more customers, i saw others software companies and they all get a lot of costumer bc of easy and safe installation. Also when i ask for good feedback i never got em. Its like "its not bad but risky". Every bad review is complaining about it.

8. U may dont know, but im wasting much time because i really want to buy it but i never felt scared to buy something specially from steam, (reading bad reviews, watching yt vids, reading your forum posts how to solve it) each time i read i have less trust and more fear about installing. I CANT FUK MY PC because still in colleague and have exam and stuff (still in virtual lessons). I cant take the risk.

9. As i said im noob i wont be able to fix if a problem happens, if u tell me i cant manage it or to avoid problems better not buy it, well i may not do it

1. If you buy via Stardock direct you can use this guide for deactivation : https://forums.stardock.com/486311/accounts-and-activation-support-faq#deactivateproduct

2. Use the the deactivation guide above to deactivate old/un-use activation, if you reach Max activation.

3. Steam activation don't use keys.

4. Fences have saved layout snapshot which you can backup using this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#backupsnapshots. For Start11, if you uninstall it, it will ask if you want to remove the setting too. If you choose not. Than the setting is still saved in your system. And will be use when you reinstall Start11.

5. The uninstall should work, but incase it don't, you can use our purge guide as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

6. Not going to comment on Cracked software.

7. Fences 4, current version, should have no issue with Wallpaper Engine. WPE compatibility issue was resolved back in V3.12 : refer here https://forums.stardock.com/506115/get;3813226.

8. You can always make a backup copy of your system if worry thing might go terribly wrong for you : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-windows-11-and/036110b8-66bb-4cc7-b9e2-2d66df27d236

I seriously doubt you will damage your PC. I have personally installed Start11, Groupy, and a few others on every single build of Windows 11 including both GA and insiders (Dev channel btw) and the worst case scenario is with WindowBlinds which has some quirks with Windows 11 (and is currently being worked on) and nothing has "damaged" my install in any way, shape, or form.

I can say that if you choose to use pirated versions then you get what you deserve. It is possible folks who have done so may have gotten some form of malware I can assure you that doesn't happen when you obtain copies from legitimate sources.

As for the 5 activation limit it means 5 "simultaneous" activations. For example, installing Start11 on 5 different PC's. You do not need to "repurchase" anything. You can deactivate individual activations as long as you don't have more than 5 at a time.

The only time you would need to repurchase anything is if you want more than 5 simultaneous activations or if you purchase the OD subscription (recommended) in which case you renew it (at a serious discount) once per year.

A note about "reviews"

While in general reviews can be a good thing it is important to note that there are billions of PCs and users each with their own software/hardware configurations. There is no way an individual can know for sure if any problem is real, perceived, or caused by the user themselves. It is not only possible but likely that a bad review was caused by the user doing something they shouldn't have or some issue with their machine. The best bet would be to take any and all reviews with a grain of salt. I think anyone who shops on ebay or amazon will understand. Also I would suggest downloading the trial versions first. Most devs (Stardock included) offer a trial for this exact reason. It allows you to test the software in question. It could also be that it just isn't what you wanted even if no problems occur.

1. First only ppl who bought legit version has the problem bc its a key problem, i heard a review that preferred still being pirate even he bought a legit after use it.

2. I dont want pirate this is why im looking for original

3.  Steam doesnt have a key, and this is why i see its worse in a unistall or deactivate thingy.

4. U should take a look and have better explanation in steam forums or invite costumers to go this website, im thankful that u got time to explain to me.

5. Well most of them is bc they restarted their OS.

6. Yeah and this is why i always looks for reviews if i want to purchase smth.

7. the problem is that the trial could get F my pc. And i dont want that. The only idea is a virtual machine but im so noob to do it.

8. Thats the main to do free trial to test if u like it not if it works (this is for Beta Testers)

9. im more familiar to Steam because im and old user and get benefits with it, but i can say u get more support or facilities having a key from orginal seller.

10. To sum up ill test and take the risk with fence4 becasue its the main software i want tbh, ill test on holidays, and if everyworks so i may look for anothers like start11 and groupy

11. if i test Fence4 and my free trial is over. What will happen with the documents or apps which would be on fences?

Once the free trial is over, fences will simply stop working and will ask you to uninstall it. Your system should still be the same.

1. When free trial is over can i unistall it right? i mean from the app or Panel control. Because when i see the steps to unistall is so horrile..

2. If my free trial isnt over but theres fences4 on steam and buy it. Does will work "forever" or should i do a clean installing

3. ETA for Fences4?

4. I have kaspersky TS, does it make fences worse?

Hello again,

  1. Yes, uninstall should work just like any other install application. Yes from Control Panel or from the App listing.
  2. If you wish to purchase via Steam, than you will need to uninstall Fences 4 from your system, reboot, install from Fences 4 from Steam. Activate via Steam, that should work forever.
  3. Fences 4 on steam was release there very recently : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1815630/Fences_4/
  4. I have not see any issue raise by user over Kaspersky on Fences yet. But, I don't own Kaspersky to verify. Do you see any issue when you do the Fences 4 trial on your Kaspersky enable system?
