Why is setting my wallpaper for a specific background greyed out?  I have win 11 and would like a different background for my wallpaper and my screensaver.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

a little more info please .

Full version number of Windows ( use winver.exe for that )

DeskScapes version ?

How many Monitors @ what screen resolutions and Scaling at 100% or what ?

Can you show us a screenshot of what you seeing ..

Windows 11 Home.  Deskscapes version 11 21H2./ OS22000. 832.  build I have ONE monitor.  I used to have a different image for my wallpaper and an animated background for screensaver .  Now I can't.  And I cannot use screensaver to show you a screenshot because as soon as I go to do that the apply background options disappear.  And what does my scaling have to do with my issue?

What version of DeskScapes ( that's windows info above )

On the Deskscapes app click on About for version .

and when you say screensaver do you mean Dream ?

When you open the DeskScapes app is this what you see ?

If you click on settings you get a pop up of more settings and the About option .

I know how to set it up;  I've used it for several years.  My problem is now I cannot set a different background for my desktop from my screensaver.   It is using the SAME downloaded background for both.  On my pc settings I have a different picture I want to use for the desktop from MY photos.  I used to be able to do this, and now I can't.

I open my settings on pc, go to background and select MY picture.  Then I open deskscapes and it shows NO currently applied background.  So I then choose the animated background I want for screensaver and go through that process.  Once I do, not only is it my screensaver, but is showing as my background, too.  That is all.  Nothing else unusual happens. I know my tech, and I have done this process for YEARS! My settings on PC are the same.

If you want any further help need to know what version of DeskScapes

your running , you say you know your Tech , so go to your setting and 

find About and get us the Version of DeskScapes .

The latest version is DeskScape11 BETA 5 is that what you have ?

or are you still on DeskScapes10 ? or 8 or what ?

Again you say your a Tech guy , when you open the DeskScape app

it opens on your Desktop , make a screenshot of that and post it back here , please .

Yes...because I told you in the beginning that I had Deskscapes 11 . Deskscape app does not open on my desktop. It opens as an app. Seriously, you don't need to try to dismiss me as not knowledgeable.

OK, So I can guide with the right link ..

Do you have Object Desktop suite of apps.?

Or do you just have a Stand  alone version of the DeskScapes app ?

and Yes DeskScapes opens has an app on top of your desktop .

Can you go to settings ( About ) and see if you have DS11 Beta 5 ?

** Also Win11 has a new update out today that may or may not help the issue 

is your Win11 up to date ? What's your full version numbers now ?

Reboot and ReInstall the latest version from your Account Page https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

your download will be this version 

  • DeskScapes 11 - Download 10.96.0

Reboot again , test and report back .

BTW...I jsut realized I had to renew OBjectdesktop, which I did, and that won't activate..  Should I purge ALL of your products and reinstall, because NONE of them are showing that I have a current subscription.

and wait for a response .

Just explain your issue so they can get it fixed .

These tickets are answered in the order received so wait your turn , please .

Update.  I have now paid for all and updated (in any case, the items I had and wanted).  It seems to be working ok now.  Sorry, I didn't remember that I had let them lapse.
