Folder Portal set to 0% transparency fail to dissapear on first alt click

Hello,

I am a very happy user of Fences, but I have one problem that is disturbing my workflow.

I have a Folder Portal set to 0% transparency (to be visible only on mouse over). The problem is when I press alt key (to move to another desktop pane or change language in windows [alt+shift]) the folder portal becomes visible (which is how it works I guess), but when I release the alt button the background of the folder portal becomes transparent, but the folders are still visible. If I click alt again they correctly dissapear. But this clicking again is very annoying. I guess somehow the folders can't dissapear on time and they stay visible...

The problem is connected only with Folder Portals, not desktop panes, I confirmed that by disabling desktop panes.

Here is my configuration:

Fences 4.0.7.2

Windows 11 Pro 22H2

Single Monitor - 1920x1080

Video Card: Nvidia 3060ti

Nvidia Driver Version: 517.48

Same problem was present with the same configuration, but latest Windows 10.

Btw any setting to Folder Portal with transparency below 80% have a problem, but with 0% it is most visible.

I don't mind not using folder portals and only using fences, but in fences I can't display longer folder/file names, they hide automatically...

I don't see how to officialy contact Stardock support, so I write here.

Any help is welcome.

Best regards,

Radoslav

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. May I know few more details.

  1. Windows 11 Full version numbers. Use Winver.exe to get that.
  2. Monitor/s scaling factor: 125%,150% etc

Thanks

Hi basj,

Thanks so much for the reply!

Here is the additional info:

1) Microsoft Windows Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.521)

2) Monitor/s scaling factor: 100%.

Sometimes I enble DSR factors and set the resolution to 400% (4k, some games look better that way), but the scaling is still 100%. I tested with and without DSR enabled and the results are the same.

I made a quick video showing the issue in action. First time in the video, when it occurs, I press Alt+right arrow and then Alt+left arrow to go back, and then once again Alt so the issue will dissapear. Second time I change the language with alt+shift and then alt again.

Regards,

Radoslav

Hello,
Thanks for the video. I can reproduce your issue on my system. Just that, it happened intermittently. And only with "Shift+Alt". Anyway, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks
