Using Fences with Dual Monitor and Multiple Desktops

Can it be done?

I use Windows 11, Fences and Dual Monitors

When I try to drag over a new desktop nothing happens (two-fingers on touch pad)

When I tried to create a new desktop in Windows it just changed the background picture. All my fences and icons were present on both desktops.

When I tried to move a fence it disappeared. I had to disable multiple desktops in Fences settings. If I reenable multiple desktops, the Fence in question either disappears or just moves behind the other Fences when dragged.

Are there any work arounds?

Having multiple desktops with different Fences on each would be optimal.

Thx

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your issue.

  1. Windows 11 full version number please. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences version number.
  3. When you said "new desktop" this is referring to Windows desktop of Fences desktop pages?
  4. Do you know how Fences desktop pages work?

Thank you.

Thanks for replying, Basj!

1. Windows 11 v22H2 (OS Build 22621.674)

2. Fences v4.0.7.2

3. Correct, I created a new Windows desktop.

4. I believe I know how Fences desktop pages are supposed to work...

On my screen I swipe (place cursor to edge of screen, left click touchpad, pull cursor away from the edge of screen) left or right to pull over a new Fences desktop. However, when I swipe from the left nothing happens (well it tries to open a new fence) and when I attempt to swipe from the right the cursor simply moves to my second monitor (set up to access the second monitor from the right side of primary screen).

Thanks

To create a new Fences desktop page, just need to click an icon or a Fences to left or the right most edge of your two monitors, if its located side by side horizontally. Once its over the edge, Fences will automatically create a new Fences Desktop page there and that icon or the fence you drag over will be locate into that new Fences Desktop page.

Fences desktop pages has nothing to do with Windows Desktop page. If you create new Windows Desktop page. The Fences pages will still be the same.

This is not possible currently in Fences.
