Well...the English are the favourites....but the Aussies are the defending World Champions...though the former seem to think we got rid of the greater threat [to them] by ousting the Kiwis.

Seems they think they can't beat the defeated, but they can beat the defeater...[whacko logic, there]....

from the above we non-rugby rats always assumed that the game term "scrum" was just a contraction of scrotum. all the lads lean in and kick & flail wildly at each others midsections until someone accidentally disturbs the ball. a rulebook would be helpful to us. ( there are rules, right?)

the padding only increases injuries - you can hit a stationary bloke hard enough to break his bones and feel little of the customary stinging pain yourself.

do the aussies still play that fast moving "footie"? that's a fun game to watch.

Tonight is the play-off for third place....the Froggies vs the Kiwis.

Should be fun, provided the French don't send in some secret service frogmen to plant a bomb....

I wonder if the Kiwis remember that fondly....or is it an incentive to flog ten shades of crap outa them....all in the name of good sportmanship....

Saturday is the final.....and that'll be an all-in, do-or-die battle that'll be full of hurt....

A case of the World's best vs the World Champions......expect a lot of walking wounded.....but may the better team win...
