Folder navigation support

Mouse key compatibility

I love having folders on the desktop and would use it more. However, currently limited to pressing the top bar to navigate back or pressing backspace key.

Would be a massive advantage if it would recognise my mouse keys - which I use to navigate backwards in browser and windows explorer. I'm sure there is a tedious and lengthy workaround but I would rather have an option in the folder portals tab to either automatically recognise the backwards navigation keys or manually add hotkeys for provided functions - including 'navigate backwards'.

Hi there basj,

So this is a request that has been made for several years (back in 2014 from what I can see) and which has still not been addressed. We were considering Fences for our enterprise, but many, if not the majority, of people who have tried it in our business have a very hard time navigating back and forth with the Folder Portal, simply because they are used to using their mouse to go back and forth between folders in Explorer.

It is not a mouse problem, and Fences actually responds to keyboard commands such as Backspace (to return to parent folder), Alt+Left Arrow (Back), Alt+Right Arrow (Forward), and so the only problem here is that Fences, and more specifically the Folder Portal, just doesn't respond to Forward and Back commands.

Hope this gets sorted out so we can move forward with purchase. Thank you!

Do know that a request is a request. When or if the request be implemented is still on Support and Dev to decide.

Thank you,

What a beautiful response. A request is a request, but after 10 years, a request becomes a disregarded/discarded customer feedback.

A request that has been made several times over the last 10 years should be, for any company and/or product, a top priority. At this time, your Support or Dev team have shown that 1) they have not answered, let alone listened, to customers' repeated feedback and pain point reports or that someone has not taken care of relaying the information and that 2) existing customers' feedback, requests and ideas to improve the company's products are not important and can be disregarded.

I believe we will stay away from your products, unfortunately.

Thank you much,
