Who needs SNL when we have Cable News?

Is it just me or do others notice that Cable News has just about become as funny as SNL?

I mean, MSNBC just had the "Question of the day: Do you think Michael Jackson is a Child Molester?" Phone in or email you answer to MSNBC...

CNN is just as bad...

All of them are, they are so freaking *INANE*... Interactive News, what a joke, almost as bad as Statistic and Poles....

It's short for "Saturday Night Live"

Ah! I know Saturday Night Live. Well, never watched it, but heard of it.
Never heard it called SNL though.

Cable News today is starting to remind me of Rozann Rosann OhDanNa and Chevy Chase doing the news on SNL

Giggle. S'narf. SNL. Gave it up. Then I began to watch CNN and MSNBC. Gave them up too. Went back to SNL, more real news. Or news I could live with. >

Yeah, IP. Hard to parody something that's already descended into self-parody.

I was just thinking about this yesterday and today after clickiing through various cable channels running live TV helicopiter camera shots from above the Neverland Ranch. (Look, a police car! look another police car! ooh, there are trees! What bloody else would the TV geniuses and viewers expect to see? The King of Pop moonwalked out of the house in cuffs when he wasn't even there? Ludicrous.)

Anyone remember how many of these same TV news anchor folks and others in the news industry were saying that after 9-11 TV news would be much more serious covering the news and less likely to fixate on subjects that previously would only be covered by the tabloid papers. Yeah right. I thought it was self-serving bull nuggets then and now when I see a "news" story on national and local TV about Madonna kissing some other chick on TV (was that Brittany? they're getting to look all alike to me), I just laugh.

Remember when CNN tried to act as if it was above all this "lowbrow" sort of "trashy tabloid" stuff? I guess they still do, but they don't seem to be holding their noses too much when they report on this stuff.

ah yup!

I vote CNN hires OldCrab to anchor morning and evening news, and maybe fills in for Lou Dobbs now and then
